Hi everyone!
So I really want to get some feedback on the idea/word "affirmations."  Some of us old folks like me started out with the "every day in every way, I am getting better and better" affirmation pioneered by Emile Coue'.  He was very much a pioneer in the art of improvement by autosuggestion.

There is some fascinating information about him here:  http://emilecoue.wwwhubs.com/  His philosophy about self improvement and affirmations was ground breaking for the time.

My question is this - do they still work for us?  Do you use affirmations?  How do they work for you?  Do you have any to share?  :-)  Or do you feel like the idea of affirmations is no longer something viable for today's world? If so, why?  I really would like to hear both sides of this subject, if anyone has differing opinions.

Spellwork is often a series of affirmations, belief, and work towards a goal that will benefit ourselves and others.

Do you feel a correlation between your affirmations, if you use them, and the concept of spellwork?

I would love to hear from everyone!
Love and respect,
Mambo Samantha Corfield

Hi MaMere!
I'll go first :-)
I still use affirmations every day, as well as recommend them to clients. My favorite use of them is to help stamp out ANTs (Automatic Negative Thoughts). When I find myself in a negative thinking pattern, or even feeling doubtful about a something,  I create an affirmation and substitute the affirmation for the negative thought. It takes some practice, I am not perfect at it for sure, but it works for me.
I have quite a few posted on my blog but I find making up my own most helpful.
Love you!
Sister Bridget
